Reality Check

Psalms 103:5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

I was just meditating on this — but do not get offended — and my eyes were opened to something which makes sense.

If you are a believer, and have never been told in disbelief ‘What — you can’t be that old!’, then we should question whether your mouth has been satisfied with good things!

It’s evident that if God has indeed satisfied your mouth with these good things, you must LOOK younger than your actual age! If people always estimate you to be much older than you actually are, then we should doubt if your youth has been renewed.

I’m always put in the teen category yet I’m approaching the 30s! My older cousin turned 50 a few days ago, and one of my friends, as he saw a video of her cut cake, asked me if she was single! Yep — he was looking for a partner. To him, she looked like she was in her late 20s. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

I can’t mention what ‘good things’ are, for I believe they must be relative to each individual out there. And I wish they only came as good things, but I have proved God to turn even the bad that is sent your way into good, so that by the time it gets to your mouth, it’s no longer scorn or poison, but a thing He uses to beautify you!

This goes beyond healthy eating, and having access to the best services in the world or careers; for then we wouldn’t doubt if a doctor looked younger. We’d think it’s their knowledge of nutrition that’s kept them young.

What shall we say for those ignorant of carbs and protein intakes! Such as they just bless the Lord, who seems to have taken charge of their health, by His word, and ensured to keep sending these good things so that the recipients countenances appear to be as though they stopped aging!

It’s magic!

For how can we explain why a king fit to be Sarah’s son would want to hit on her! And how do you explain how young Abraham must have looked for that king to believe that he was Sarah’s brother and not husband! This guy even went to war beyond the age of 80 and defeated 5 kings!

He didn’t know cardio or dumbbells! These two didn’t know vitamins! They didn’t know facial scrub or saunas! They had no moisturizer those days!

But they knew a God!

They knew the God — and some ‘good things’!

I pray for you, that you’ll see how good God’s been to you, and that you’ll make sacrifices of praise to Him. And that your mouth will open when He beckons, that you may eat of the fruit that makes new of you.

Psalms 81:10 I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
