Walls & Gates

Isaiah 60:11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall not be shut day or night, That [men] may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, And their kings in procession

Having meditated on this yesterday, God opened my eyes to something I’d never seen. The verse before talks about gates being open always to receive wealth of the gentiles. Verse 18 defines our gates and walls:

Isaiah 60:18 No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.

Our walls are salvation — received upon confession of Jesus Christ. But, imagine a home with great security without access. Imagine a house with great treasure within without a door! The inhabiters will sleep outside in case the walls are as tall as the battlemented ones in the medieval ages.

In essence, these seem to say, that ‘praise’ avails the access to all the spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ. Praise is the doorway into that house, the gateway into the city. Hallelujah. And if it be so, that means the wicked/heathen — for the believer today — will find access to bring the wealth the Lord prophesied. If not, they will bounce back along with their kings in procession, thinking the location given to them was a dead end!

Thank God for His word. Thank Him for life. Thank Him that you lend to nations. Thank Him when things are contradicting to His word. Thank Him that you are able to walk by faith. Thank Him that He is faithful who promised. Didn’t Isaac come? Your promise too will!

Keep your praise on! Keep your gates on!

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name.

Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
