Power to Get Wealth 3 | The Wealth of the Wicked

Amid prayer, the scripture ‘the wealth of the wicked (sinner) is being laid up for the just’ came to mind. As I prayed more, the Holy Spirit painted that scene — that story; from 2 Kings 7:3-20.

If you’re not familiar with the story, four lepers were cast out of Samaria, and due to the famine, they desperately needed food. But to go back among the clean, they’d be stoned to death. So, they decided to take their chance by going to the Syrian camp, for either way, even if they would not be killed by stoning, the famine might as well finish them.

Elisha had just prophesied the day before, that the famine would be no more by a certain time of that current day.

Let me allow you read the rest of the story in detail;

So they got up at twilight to go to the Aramean camp. But when they came to the edge of the camp, there was no one there. For the Lord had caused the Aramean army to hear the sound of chariots, and the sound of horses, the sound of a great army. They had said to one another, “The king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come [and fight] against us.”

So the Arameans set out and fled during the twilight, and left their tents, horses, and donkeys, even left the camp just as it was, and fled for their lives. When these lepers came to the edge of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried away from there silver, gold, and clothing, and went and hid them. Then they went back and entered another tent and carried [some valuable things] from there also, and went and hid them.’ ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭7‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ AMP

Not only did the lepers gather enough loot to rescue them from personal poverty. Their starvation ceased. And later, the entire city was invited (though in the beginning it sounded too good to be true), and each man had away with what they could. The economy immediately resuscitated, on account of wealth that was found lying bare! The Syrian army must have been thousands of men, so i need you to imagine thousands of tents and horses and belongings and treasures.

As I’ve been stressing the scripture from Deuteronomy 8:18, the point seems to be driven home the more! God has given you power to GET wealth. Not to MAKE. But to get! Our main text proved this, and what more could I need to believe God’s word! Indeed the wealth of the wicked/sinner (Syrians) in this context, was turned over to the righteous (God’s people); which is you today.

This is how we receive houses filled with all beautiful things that we did not fill. This is how we receive wells we did not dig. This is how we receive vineyards we did not plant. This is how we receive cities we did not build!

So, Father God position us I pray. May we carry the sound of thousands of horses and chariots approaching the enemy or the wicked, that he might flee leaving behind spoil for us; that your word might be fulfilled. For you’re not a man that you should lie! No sir! You’re not. We receive our inheritance on account of our father Abraham today! That we might lend to nations! In Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen.
